Knitwear
Against the Cold, Softly
Mongolian cashmere. Norwegian wool. The warmth that does not announce itself.
There is a particular intelligence to knitwear — the understanding that warmth should feel like nothing at all. NØRVIK knitwear is built on this principle, working in Mongolian cashmere and Norwegian wool chosen for its staple length, its softness against skin, and its ability to hold structure across years of wearing.
Each piece is fully fashioned — the panels are shaped on the machine rather than cut from flat cloth, which eliminates waste and produces an edge that lies perfectly without a sewn seam. Joins are hand-linked stitch by stitch. The finishing is done by hand, with any pilling from loose surface fibres removed before the piece leaves the studio.
The silhouette in knitwear is deliberately relaxed. A garment that sits slightly away from the body creates a layer of warm air that a slim fit cannot. The proportions are developed to layer naturally over a shirt and under an overcoat, so each piece functions as part of a considered wardrobe rather than a standalone statement.

What is the difference between NØRVIK knitwear and standard cashmere?
Most mass-market cashmere uses short-staple fibres from multiple sources, which pill quickly and soften unevenly. NØRVIK uses long-staple Mongolian cashmere from a single source, which produces a surface that is consistent, durable, and improves in softness over time.
How do I wash a NØRVIK knit?
Hand wash in cold water with a wool-specific detergent, or dry clean with a specialist. Never wring — press water out gently and dry flat on a clean towel away from direct heat or sunlight. This process preserves fibre length and prevents shrinkage.
Will the knitwear pill?
Minor pilling is natural with any natural fibre and is caused by loose surface fibres. Each piece is de-pilled before leaving the studio. A fabric comb used monthly will keep the surface clean and extend the garment's life.
How does the sizing run?
NØRVIK knitwear runs true to European sizing with a relaxed fit. We recommend sizing down from your usual if you prefer a closer silhouette, or sizing true if you intend to layer over a shirt.
