Outerwear
Structured Against the Cold
Virgin wool. Toscana shearling. Pieces built to last a generation.
An overcoat is not a purchase — it is a position. The NØRVIK outerwear collection begins with this understanding and proceeds without compromise. Each piece is cut from material chosen for its weight, its drape, and its refusal to look ordinary after ten years of continuous wear.
We work primarily in double-faced virgin wool and naturally tanned Toscana shearling, sourced from mills and tanneries who have been doing this work for generations. The construction is fully canvassed, the closures hand-finished, and the silhouettes developed over months of fitting until they move exactly as intended. There is no fast way to do this work, and we have not looked for one.
The NØRVIK approach to outerwear is founded on a principle shared with Scandinavian architecture: that the most enduring forms are also the simplest. No unnecessary seams. No decorative hardware that will date. A coat that reads as a coat in 2026 and again in 2046 is the only coat worth making.

What materials does NØRVIK use for outerwear?
Our outerwear is made primarily from double-faced virgin wool and naturally tanned Toscana shearling. Both materials are chosen for their weight, drape, and longevity. No synthetic fibres are introduced at any stage of production.
How is NØRVIK outerwear constructed?
Each coat is fully canvassed — a layer of horsehair canvas is hand-stitched between the outer cloth and facing, allowing the garment to mould to the body over time. Closures are hand-finished and, where relevant, made from natural horn sourced in Scandinavia.
How many pieces are made in each edition?
Outerwear editions run between 18 and 40 pieces, depending on the complexity of the pattern and the availability of the cloth. Once an edition is closed, it is not reproduced.
How should I care for my NØRVIK coat?
Dry clean only, with a specialist who understands canvassed construction. Between cleans, hang on a shaped shoulder, brush with a natural bristle brush after wearing, and allow 24 hours between wearings to recover its shape.
