Production Ethics

How we make.

Luxury at the price points NØRVIK occupies requires justification. We believe that justification comes from how something is made — not from how it is marketed. These are our commitments. They are not aspirations or targets. They are the terms under which we operate.

We publish this page not because it differentiates us — though it does — but because anyone spending £100–£500 on a garment deserves to know what they are funding. Transparency is not a marketing tool here. It is accountability.

01

Single-run production.

Every NØRVIK edition is produced once. The quantity is set before a single piece is cut — by the yield of the method and the mill, not by a commercial forecast. This means no overproduction, no surplus, no clearance. Every piece made was made to be owned.

02

Traceable materials.

The wool in NØRVIK outerwear is sourced from certified merino and virgin wool producers. The cashmere is Mongolian, from herds managed under long-established pastoral practices. The Toscana shearling is produced by Italian tanneries operating under EU environmental standards. We know where each material comes from because we selected the source, not just the fabric.

03

Artisan construction.

NØRVIK pieces are constructed by skilled makers — tailors, knitters, and leather artisans working in established ateliers in the UK, Italy, and Portugal. We do not use factory-floor volume production. Construction time per piece is longer. Cost per piece is higher. The result is a garment that behaves differently under wear — and lasts accordingly.

04

No markdown model.

NØRVIK does not mark down. There are no end-of-season sales, no discount codes, no outlet allocation. The price on each piece is the price. This is not a commercial decision — it is a commitment to the people who buy at full price from day one, and a refusal to participate in the culture of artificial inflation followed by manufactured urgency.

05

Packaging with purpose.

Each NØRVIK piece is delivered in unbleached kraft board, tissue paper, and a cloth dust bag. No plastic wrapping. No branded excess. The packaging protects the garment in transit and stores with it afterward. Nothing is disposable.

06

Long-term thinking.

The pieces in Edition 001 were designed to be worn for fifteen years. Not as a marketing claim — as a design constraint. Every material, every construction method, every finish was selected against the question: will this still be right in a decade? That is the only kind of luxury that justifies itself over time.

"We are not a sustainable fashion brand. We are a brand that makes things correctly — which happens to be the most sustainable approach available."
