The suit is the most demanding thing to wear. Every proportion communicates — the roll of the lapel, the suppression at the waist, the length of the sleeve. NØRVIK tailoring begins with these proportions and then asks a harder question: what is this garment saying about the person inside it?
We work in grain de poudre wool, barathea, and high-twist English worsteds — fabrics that hold their shape through a long day and recover overnight. The construction is full canvas throughout, with the chest piece floating freely so it breathes with the body rather than against it. Peak lapels are faced in matte grosgrain. Buttonholes are cut and stitched by hand across an afternoon.
The NØRVIK tailoring silhouette is structured without stiffness — the shoulder has natural roll, the chest is built rather than padded, and the trouser is cut to fall cleanly whether seated or standing. Three years of fittings produced proportions that work for the Scandinavian frame and the international wardrobe simultaneously.

What makes NØRVIK tailoring different from high street suits?
The fundamental difference is construction. High street suits are fused — an adhesive layer is bonded to the cloth, which stiffens over time and can bubble. NØRVIK suits are fully canvassed: the chest piece is hand-stitched and floats independently, allowing the garment to drape naturally and improve with age.
What fabrics are used in the tailoring collection?
We work primarily in Italian grain de poudre wool, which has a fine, tight weave that resists creasing, and English high-twist worsteds, which are lighter and more resilient for warmer climates. Evening pieces use barathea and matte grosgrain facings.
How should a NØRVIK suit fit?
The jacket should sit cleanly at the shoulder with no divot or overhang. The chest should fasten without pulling. The trouser should break once at the front with a clean hang from hip to hem. We recommend sizing for the chest and shoulders, then tailoring the waist and trouser seat locally.
Can I wear the jacket and trouser separately?
Yes — this is intentional. The jacket works with a dark jean or flannel trouser; the trouser works with a collarless shirt or fine knitwear. The pieces are designed to move through a wardrobe, not sit within it.
